Week 41 — Simplicity…

This week has been Autumnal; up in the loft I've been subjected to the sound of rain on the skylights, so I recorded it. This texture/piece is a pair of 20 minutes recorindgs broken into 4 minutes sections and panned/layered in Logic (and a bunch of effects added to the stereo mix). There's an emergent drone/hum in the background that isn't really audible on the original recordings, but when layered, gets reinforced; I used a sub-bass plugin to enhance that as the piece progresses.

I automated the changing of the delay-type to add a bit of disruption to the rain (heard as a speed-up/slow-down of the delays).

Of course, as I'm mixing it it's nice and sunny outside…
